Shiv Sena attacks Shah Rukh, breaks promise

The Shiv Sena workers attacked the theaters which were supposed to show ‘My Name Is Khan’ damaging the booking windows in Mumbai suburbs.

The Sena attacked Mehul Theatre in Mulund, as another group targeted the Shreyas theatre in Ghatkopar.

Few groups of Sena activists were also seen protesting in Kanjurmarg, Bandra, Khar and other parts of the city after the police had promised to provide tough measures to prevent any incident during the release of the film.

About 12 Sena activists were arrested from Mulund, and 24 were held in Ghatkopar and Kanjurmarg in connection with the protests.

Earlier in the day, director Karan Johar met police commissioner D Shivanandhan regarding the safe release of the movie. The police had assured Karan to provide adequate security.

Joint police commissioner Himanshu Roy had said that anybody caught attempting to disrupt the film would be dealt with "very firmly."
