I started MAMI festival with Black Sea… Simple and very human…
It’s an Italian Romanian film. Beauty of this film was not only good, real performance but also the way it was characterized. Two country, different social problems, one thread… bonding with each other.
Then came Applause (Denmark)… very well structured and performed… One woman show… Lead actor Paprika Stein took the whole show to a different level with her amazing performance. Film became predictable at points but still it holds as it has genuine moments.
But my favorite film of this festival is Bista (twenty). An Iranian film… extremely well narrated, emotional and subtle.
Indian cinema was once rich with its visual symbolic narration.. Songs with Shayari…and colours of its ownJ
Trust me I did not miss a single song or dramatic intermissions…J
I know some people said it’s gareeb films, low budgets… But I know as a film maker it takes good script and good content to leave an impact… rest all come later.
That’s why I call these films fearless…
